Empowering K-12 educators to help learners explore cybersecurity in a fun, safe and collaborative environment.
Cybersecurity for Educators (K-12)
Description
Company: Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst
The project's goal is to support youth in their journey to building cybersecurity literacy while sparking their interest in the constantly evolving field of cybersecurity as a potential career pathway.
In collaboration with industry and academic partners at the Catalyst, these high-quality digital resources were developed to aid and equip youth to understand complex terms and definitions with real-world examples. They can also be conversation starters, activities, and suggested definitions to help guide parents/guardians, educators, and youth in comprehending new content.
Lessons are available in four grade groupings: primary (grades 1 to 3), junior (grades 4 to 6), intermediate/senior (grades 7 and 8) and high school (grades 9 to 12), and include start-to-finish teaching materials, such as unit plans and recommended rubrics for educators, and corresponding lesson worksheets for students.
The resources cover six critical themes:
-
Cyber Respect & Online Kindness (Cyberbullying)
-
Safe Communication Online
-
Privacy Online: Passcodes
-
Safety Online: Understanding Online Risks
-
Information Verification: Truth Online
-
